Mags and Richard Pyne from Auckland, New Zealand were the winners of our 2001 promotion... Win a Heavenly Vacation ... at Lomalagi Resort Fiji. They have just returned home to New Zealand after their wonderful holiday.
Mags and Richard wrote to us as soon as they returned to New Zealand - very appreciative of their generous hosts at Lomalagi Resort, Collin and Terry. "Richard and I returned from 'Heaven' on Sunday - thank you all so much for a lovely holiday. We loved our villa, ... so private ... " wrote Mags, and continued to say how much they enjoyed the lovely pool, the kayaking and snorkelling.
"What do we miss the most from Lomalagi - has to be the staff, they are all so lovely we felt almost like one of the family, and also the view. We were so content just to sit and watch as the glorious days unfolded. I loved to get up at 5.30am and wait for the sun to rise and the moon to set.
"Despite expecting to have a lazy week, we actually did something every day! Friday - snorkelling; I could have spent the whole day doing this but the sun was so hot! Saturday - kayaking; we went much further than we expected! Easter Sunday - the egg hunt! Monday - walking the beach and swimming. Tuesday - we got a taxi and took a 6 hours drive around some of the island, which we found to be a lot bigger than expected, and we enjoyed visiting Savusavu and the sugar town.
 Wednesday - I spent the afternoon at the local school, the kids were so lovely. Thank goodness I remembered to bring lots of pens and pencils, and their singing certainly raised the roof. Thursday - our last full day - Terry took us out on the Lomalagi boat around the bay visiting some beautiful bays and a tiny village up river - wonderful !
"Then all of a sudden it was Friday morning and time to bid a tearful farewell, but even the flight to Nadi was lovely, flying over the blue sea dotted with tiny islands - oh, if only we were just arriving.
"Our fellow guests were great, so we enjoyed lots of dinner conversations in the dining pavillion together with our hosts. Hard to leave the staff who were so lovely; I shed a few tears on the plane back to Nadi. How lucky we were to enjoy it all".
