MH (Morris Hedstrom) Supermarkets are well known in Fiji Islands and other parts of the South Pacific. Residents on Taveuni Island (Fiji's third largest island) have welcomed the opening of a new store at Somosomo village, which replaced an old, much smaller, timber-boarded outlet. Alongside the new supermarket are Carpenters Hardware and Agriculture. Rumours of a new ANZ bank branch to open at the same location have not yet borne out to be true, but residents would welcome this also. The only other bank is at Naqara town adjacent to Somosomo, being a Colonial Bank branch. Taveuni is a popular island for overseas investment, with quite a number of freehold residential lots available. Check out the current opportunities for

Many tourists who travel to Fiji for their holiday, honeymoon, business trip or leisure vacation wish they could stay forever. The warm tropical climate, easy-going lifestyle, clean air and pristine environment coupled with the friendly and hospitable nature of the Fijian people lure many visitors to make return trips to the Fiji islands.
For some, the lure is strong enough that they not only return, but in a big way! These enthusiasts decide that they want to make Fiji a more permanent feature of their lives, and end up investing in property. Unlike many other South Pacific nations, Fiji does have some freehold title land (around 8.5%) and this makes investing a very tempting proposition. Fiji welcomes overseas investors. Some invest in tourism properties, while others buy land or home for either permanent residence or vacation home. Some combine the two, choosing to live in Fiji, say, for a few months a year, and leasing their home to holidaymakers during the remaining months.
Taveuni Island is a popular choice for many, due to its higher proportion of freehold title land. View currently available Taveuni Real Estate. Or take a look at all Fiji real estate opportunities.
