Savusavu Airport Closes for 4 Months
From July 14th 2008, the regional airport at Savusavu in Fiji will be closed for major upgrade. Travellers to Savusavu will be flown to Labasa on the same island and transported by road to their Savusavu destination.
Savusavu is a popular holiday destination on Fiji's second largest island, Vanua Levu. Domestic flights usually arrive and depart at this quiet, picturesque airstrip many times a day. The FJ$5million upgrade includes realignment of the runway and an expanded aircraft parking area.

South Sea Cruises to handle Beachcomber Island Resort Transfers and Day Cruises
In recent news, South Sea Cruises has announced that from 1st April 2008 it will be handling all Beachcomber Island Resort transfers and day cruises. This move is a further extension of the great partnership that has developed between the two businesses in recent years.
South Sea Cruises has been the winner of the Fiji Tourism Award for Visitor Transportation for 4 consecutive years. The Beachcomber Island Resort will continue to operate as normal; it is only the sea transfers and services that has changed.
