MH (Morris Hedstrom) Supermarkets are well known in Fiji Islands and other parts of the South Pacific. Residents on Taveuni Island (Fiji's third largest island) have welcomed the opening of a new store at Somosomo village, which replaced an old, much smaller, timber-boarded outlet. Alongside the new supermarket are Carpenters Hardware and Agriculture. Rumours of a new ANZ bank branch to open at the same location have not yet borne out to be true, but residents would welcome this also. The only other bank is at Naqara town adjacent to Somosomo, being a Colonial Bank branch. Taveuni is a popular island for overseas investment, with quite a number of freehold residential lots available. Check out the current opportunities for real estate in Taveuni.
