Hidden in the most remote and culturally intact islands of Fiji is the sublime Yasawa Island Resort & Spa, amongst the most exclusive resorts in the South Pacific.
Tariffs include all meals, non-alcoholic beverages and all activities except scuba diving, game fishing and Spa.
Location
Yasawa Island is located at the top of a chain of magnificent islands known as the ’Yasawas’, renowned for its secluded bays and white sand beaches.
Yasawa Island Resort & Spa is served by its own airstrip and is 35 minutes by air NW from Nadi International Airport.
Accommodation
Just 18 luxury bures stand amongst the palms, each peeking out at a stretch of pristine white beach on an island overlooked by the modern world.
Each airconditioned bure is superbly fitted in contemporary Fijian style - local timbers, traditional art, thatched roofs and timber plantation shutters to bring in the sea breezes. Each has its own thatched beach hut, a pair of shaded day-beds on a timber deck, outdoor showers and a hammock strung between the palms.
Dining & Entertainment
Dining at Yasawa is an experience in itself. The resort’s chef prepares superb contemporary food with an emphasis on the succulent seafood caught in the waters nearby. For wine lovers, resort owner and host Garth Downey has built-up arguably the finest cellar in Fiji.
Activities
Activities at Yasawa include snorkelling, sailing, village visits, sea kayaks, light handline fishing, romantic beach picnics, windsurfing, tennis and visits to the famous Blue Lagoon Caves. The resort’s new dive shop is staffed by a fully qualified PADI dive instructor, has PADI resort accreditation and takes expeditions to the island’s pristine coral reefs, while the magnificent Blackwatch game fishing boat takes sea safaris in search of tuna and billfish
Weddings
Take your vows in the shade of the palms, on the sands of a deserted beach, before a tropical sunset or under the southern stars. You needn’t decide until you get there. Invite the choir from nearby Bukama village, choose traditional decorations and Fijian dress, or conjure a celebratory feast. A standard wwedding package takes care of everything - the license, the village minister, decorations, attendants, the choir and set-up. Add any extras you might like - photography, a bouquet of tropical orchids, or a tiered wedding cake. Fijian weddings are internationally recognised and legally binding.
