CNN 'HOTSPOTS' FEATURE CROWN BEACH RESORT - COOK ISLANDS
Early in July, we received some guests from the UK, who film for the Hotspots production of CNN. Crown Beach Resort was the only hotel to be featured on this program for the Rarotonga portion. I promised them a spectacular sunset for the evening of their film shoot, so they should be back for HAPPY HOUR - even if they didn't film it! As we approached the HAPPY HOUR of sunset, they were half way round the island and did not believe that I was going to deliver on my promise, so dawdelled their way around the island ... As they came onto our side of the island they saw what a magnificent sunset they were missing and broke the land speed record to get here and sprint to the beach with all their equipment just after the sun had set. Oh well, at least they got the glorious colours that it produced.

AUSSIE TV SERIES FOR CASTAWAY RESORT - FIJI ISLANDS
Castaway Island Resort will be the location for an episode of the popular
Australian SBS Television series 'Pizza' to be filmed this month. The
series in its second year has attracted over 500,000 viewers for each
show. The island of Monuriki, used in the 'Castaway' film will also be
used in the shooting.

$100 MILLION NATADOLA DEVELOPMENT PROGRESSING - FIJI ISLANDS
A $100 million major tourism development at Natadola Beach has been
announced with phase one of the project expected to begin construction in
2002. Phase one will include a 250 room five-star resort and a cultural and
entertainment centre. When both Phase one and two are completed the
development will offer hotels, a golf course, marina, time share and
residential villas. The entire development is expected to be finished by
2013. Natadola is one of Fiji's premiere beaches approximately an hour's drive
from Nadi International Airport. The development is being built on 377
hectares.

CLUB RARO RESORT - COOK ISLANDS
Construction of 15 new beachfront rooms is right on schedule to be finished by end of February at Club Raro Resort, Cook Islands. Bookings will be available from 1st April, 2001. The rooms look right out over the lagoon and close to the two new sundecks which have been built to stretch right out over the sand, giving a gorgeous view of the reef break and endless Pacific ocean.
