Vanuatu Golf Open - Port Vila The Vanuatu Golf Open is played at the Port Vila Golf & Country Club on an annual basis. This year - 2008 - this premier event is scheduled from August 7-10. Teams from Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States will compete for the international trophy. The championship was played for the first time between Australia and Fiji at the Denarau Golf Course in January this year. Australia won the inaugural event. Mr. Baddeley will host 16 of Australia's leading junior amateur golfers (boys and girls aged 13-17), to compete against a team of 16 amateurs. Denerau is home to the Sheraton Fiji Resort, the Sheraton Royal Denarau Resort, Sheraton Denarau Villas, and Worldmark by Trendwest, as well as two residential subdivisions, Fairway Palms and Mariners Reach, a championship 18 hole golf course and tennis facility, and a marina and port.
