Cook Islands Wedding GuideIMAGINE - GETTING MARRIED IN PARADISE!The Cook Islands have a very relaxed policy that allows international citizens to marry legally, only requiring the couple to reside three full working days on Rarotonga, provide birth certificates in English and decree absolut (divorce) documents, should either have been married before. Many of the hotels and resorts in Cook Islands have special wedding packages; those who do not can usually arrange one of the Cook's wedding specialist operators to handle the arrangements. It is possible that you may wish to make your own arrangements - however it does involve quite a lot of organisation and you may prefer to just relax and let this be arranged for you - giving you more time to enjoy your wedding ceremony and honeymoon! THE MAIN REQUIREMENTS: Marriages performed in the Cook Islands are recognised internationally. However, it is recommended that you check the marriage licensing authorities in your own country to find out their local requirements concerning marriages. ![]() Churches of most denominations exist in the Cook Islands. They include Roman Catholic, Presbyterian, Seventh Day Adventist, Congregational, Cook Islands Christian Church, Ba'hai and Mormon. The marriage requirements of these will be the same as in other countries. For more assistance, email the Resorts where you would to stay and mention that you would like to be married in the Cook Islands. They will be pleased to help you, advise of their wedding packages and to help ensure your wedding in Cook Islands will live forever in your memories.
