SOUTH PACIFIC AIR PASS FOR EUROPE MARKET Air New Zealand has introduced the South Pacific air pass. It allows clients to fly at fixed prices inside New Zealand, between New Zealand and Australia and between New Zealand and Tahiti, Fiji, Tonga, Cook Islands, New Caledonia, Norfolk Island and Samoa. The air pass is only available to clients from Europe and is valid through to April 30 2003. Prices start at 60 Euro for domestic New Zealand flights and end at 199 Euro for flights between New Zealand and South Pacific Islands. (Source: Fiji Visitors Bureau, August 2002) Polynesian Airlines introduces Northern Winter Timetable Polynesian Airlines recently introduced its Northern Winter Timetable, effective 28 October 2001 to 29 March 2002. The new schedule includes: 3 direct flights from Apia to Auckland; 2 flights from Apia to Auckland via Tonga; 3 direct flights from Auckland to Apia; 1 flight from Auckland to Apia via Tonga; 2 direct flights from Tonga to Auckland; 1 direct flight from Auckland to Tonga; 2 direct flights between Samoa and Tonga; 1 direct flight between Samoa and Honolulu; 1 direct flight between Samoa and Fiji; 1 direct flight from Sydney to Tonga; 2 flights from Sydney to Tahiti via Auckland; 2 direct flights from Tahiti to Auckland and 3 direct flights from Auckland to Sydney. The runway was extended by a further 300 meters, enabling Boeing 767s and 747s with full payloads to land and take off. Meanwhile, the Airport terminal now also features a 'Polynesian' Business Class Lounge for passengers, operated by Polynesian Airlines. The Lounge seats up to 30 passengers and offers a full range of services - complimentary refreshments, showers facility, separate toilets, workstations, internet and email access, magazines and newspapers and airline reservations system for onward travel confirmation. Included is the introduction of online booking provided by locally-based computer experts iPasefika. The new service will be available to customers within the next week. Polynesian’s new menu also incorporates the use of fresh seafood when available - in support of Samoa’s local economy. Aggie Grey’s Hotel provides inflight catering for the flights from Samoa.
