SOUTH PACIFIC AIR PASS FOR EUROPE MARKET Air New Zealand has introduced the South Pacific air pass. It allows clients to fly at fixed prices inside New Zealand, between New Zealand and Australia and between New Zealand and Tahiti, Fiji, Tonga, Cook Islands, New Caledonia, Norfolk Island and Samoa. The air pass is only available to clients from Europe and is valid through to April 30 2003. Prices start at 60 Euro for domestic New Zealand flights and end at 199 Euro for flights between New Zealand and South Pacific Islands. (Source: Fiji Visitors Bureau, August 2002) Air Tahiti Nui , Aircalin want more flights to Japan Tahiti's Air Tahiti Nui and New Caledonia's Air Caledonie International (Aircalin) want to fly more often to Japan. The president of the Government of French Polynesia, Gaston Flosse, is participating in a meeting on this in Paris, along with French, Japanese and New Caledonian officials. In addition to its current weekly flight to Osaka, Air Tahiti Nui wants to have three more weekly flights to Tokyo. Air Tahiti Nui currently operates its Airbus A340 to Los Angeles and Auckland as well as Japan and has been looking at service to Paris with an additional aircraft.
