South Pacific Air Passes

A range of special South Pacific "air passes" and discounted airfares are available through Qantas, Air Pacific and Air New Zealand.

In the case of overseas visitors, considerably discounted "Travel Pass" airfares are available. Some of the passes that are available include:

Poly Pass: includes South Pacific destinations of American Samoa, Samoa and Tonga; Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney in Australia; and Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington in New Zealand.

Boomerang Pass: A specially tailored Airpass for travel between, and within, Australia, New Zealand and the South West Pacific. The Airpass is valid for travel on Qantas Airways, Air Pacific and Qantas New Zealand services in conjunction with international travel.

Visit South Pacific Pass: For international travelers for travel within Fiji, Vanuatu, Western Samoa, New Caledonia, Tonga and New Zealand. These passes generally have limited life and application for your travel, with these airfares also requiring strict eligibility conditions that are subject to availability at all times.

THE FIRST 100 YEARS OF POWERED FLIGHT
AVALON AIR SHOW, AUSTRALIA - FEBRUARY 2003
2003 marks the centenary of powered flight. The Avalon Airshow will embrace the aviation centenary and be a spectacular display, encompassing the first 100 years of powered flight. There will be celebrations and tributes to the pioneers of aviation during the entire week. The Airshow will take a step back in time and feature unique War-birds including a replica of the Wright Flyer, through to today's supersonic jet aircraft.

DATES: Tuesday 11th February - Sunday 16th February. Trade Days 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th. Open to Public 14th 2:00pm-11pm, 15th, 16th.

LOCATION: Avalon, Australia.

AUSTRALIA - VIRGIN BLUE'S GOING BOEING
$5.4-Billion For up to 50 New Aircraft
Australia's only low fare airline Virgin Blue, has announced it has signed a major contract with US-based Boeing Commercial Airplanes for up to 50 brand new 737 Next Generation aircraft. The order now positions the carrier as one of the world's largest low-fare airlines and also cements Virgin Blue as the operator of the youngest fleet of aircraft in the Asia Pacific region, if not globally.

SOUTH PACIFIC AIR PASS FOR EUROPE MARKET
Air New Zealand has introduced the South Pacific air pass. It allows clients to fly at fixed prices inside New Zealand, between New Zealand and Australia and between New Zealand and Tahiti, Fiji, Tonga, Cook Islands, New Caledonia, Norfolk Island and Samoa.

The air pass is only available to clients from Europe and is valid through to April 30 2003. Prices start at 60 Euro for domestic New Zealand flights and end at 199 Euro for flights between New Zealand and South Pacific Islands.

REVISED POLYPASS - MORE DESTINATIONS !!
Polynesian Airlines' very own Polypass has been revised and now features more destinations than ever before. Effective July 1st 2001, cities such as Seattle, Oakland, San Francisco, Santa Ana, Las Vegas, Canberra and Adelaide were included in the Polypass list of destinations alongside Apia, Tonga, Pago Pago, Nadi, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Honolulu, Papeete and Los Angeles.
Benefits of the Polypass include unlimited travel between Samoa, American Samoa, Tonga and Fiji and itineraries are developed and customised according to the needs of each traveller. All Polypass customers have up to 45 days to explore some of the best South Pacific destinations. The Polypass list of participating airlines has expanded. Carriers such as Delta Airlines, Qantas Airways, Northwest, Air Pacific, Air Tahiti Nui and Aloha Airlines have joined as official Polypass carriers.
