Airline changes flights to Pago Pago Hawaiian Airlines has shifted its Pago Pago flights to daytime arrivals due to the partial shutdown of the instrumental landing system (ILS) at Pago Pago International Airport. This is because of the runway extension construction work now underway. Navigational equipment that will temporarily assist with landings at night is expected to be in place by May 14th. Freight carrier Evergreen International has already suspended its Sunday flight which usually arrives at 1:45 a.m. Both Hawaiian Air and Evergreen have said that they need the full system operation during night flights especially if there is poor visibility due to bad weather.
